The European Right Wings of Gaining Power
Counterattack to the Dangerous Antiforeignism!  

In the Netherlands, "an extreme right party" (the Fortwin party) became the second party. Though it was the first election, it acquired 26 seat (17.3%) among 150 seats at one sweep.

The first party was the Christianity democracy power that extended 14 seat, and it acquired 43 seat. The Labor Party and the Liberal Democratic Party that  were in the seat of the government retreated together to 23 seat from 45 seat and 38 seat.

Right wing new party appealed entirely for emigrant objection and won. There is the background that vague uneasiness such as order is turned bad and unemployment is increased (post is deprived) by emigrant spreads in the people. This party was formed only three months before, but it gained 35% of the vote at one sweep in the Rotterdam city assembly elections participated just after formation. And entered the government election, but Fortwin, the leader of the party was assassinated by the man who billed himself as the animal protection concerned person.

Ten percent of Dutch population are emigrants. Fortwin criticised that existing political parties overlooked the emigrant problem and did not wrestle at all, and attracted the nation who had dissatisfaction to existing political parties.

He declared openly that he was a homosexual, and he attacked Islam that it was "late culture" because it did not recognize homosexuality and suppressed women. He criticized Globalism and Europe integration, too.

The right wing parties highly publicizing "emigrant rejection" in the same way are gaining power and they have become to a certain assembly power in most nations in Europe, and it is only Britain that it is not found.

The National Party of Denmark got a seat of 12.3% in the assembly election last year, and, in Norway they got a seat of 15.8% in the assembly election of September, in Switzerland and Austria they acquire a seat of 20% level in election in 99, and even in Italy gets a seat of 10%. It is similar in France, Belgium.

The reason why "emigrants" increased in Europe is that the bourgeoisie needed them for "assurance of work force" and that there surged many refugees from the old Communist bloc and these days from "dispute regions."

The increase of foreigners and refugees brought down especially to "the middle class" the fear and "uneasiness" of crimes exceeded border, the increasing load of welfare expense, the environmental destruction, the attenuation and disappearance of national culture,  and they bulged the antipathy against "emigrants" and "foreigners."

The workers also infused the "fear of unemployment", and was agitated toward antiforeignism.

Of course many of these fears and uneasinesses are such as illusion. In other words, it was not on account of emigrants and foreigners.

For example, unemployment is never on account of "foreigners", it is just produced from the contradiction and the defect of capitalistic production, nevertheless bourgeoisie put the blame of the cause on the increase of "foreigners." They do so because their "crime" and "responsibility" are evaded entirely, the attack of workers is diverted to "foreigners" and does not go against capital. Then, the class struggle and the class opposition is "sublated", and it is replaced to the opposition between races.

Because capitalists are above all afraid that criticism and anger of working class extend to the rule of capital, they are really convenient if the causes of unemployment are diverted to besides rule of capital.

Therefore they support and bring up hard the "right wing" and fascists who loudly insist nationalism, antiforeignism.

Current European "right wing power" does not reach the radical one similar to the former Nazis and Italian fascists yet, and it is at most the level of Bonapartist or Populist --  enumerates the miscellaneous demands of classes, with no principle even contradictory, and following the public. However, the secular trend is too clear. Extreme nationalism, ultranationalism are their common characteristics.

The agitation of vulgar Demagogy of such a party prepares, promotes and "provokes" the appearance of tides of more "extreme", more violent, and more organized counterrevolution, and the danger of fascism victory in some part of the world increases again or third times.

If the "extreme right" power tensile "crisis" generated in Netherlands and Italy, France or Austria would be repeated, fascism power to crush "a democratic" nation in some district might win.

The reason they increase power is that the existing political parties are completely powerless for the evils that the contradiction of capitalism invented, and it has become too clear that they can solve none of them. The hatred for the existing political parties and the corruption, the incompetence is deep and general.

Hitler held power and maintained it with utilizing the nationalistic prejudice and antipathy of Germany middle class for Jews thoroughly. And he slaughtered millions of Jews and touched off World War II.

The workers must hold serious wariness to that the similar nationalistic prejudice is agitated in the European ground, and it is beginning to enroot in the people.

The Japanese governing classes were going to evade "the racial problem" by shutting the country for "foreigner" emigration virtually till now. And now, they are proud of "foresight", and they talk in triumph as Japan being limited to "a pure" nation.

However, such a dwarfish "solution" is not a thing of working class.

The working class do not fight against nationalism of reaction in such a form, but counterattack it by the class struggle and true internationalism "running" through all nations and races objecting to capital.
